Trustees and Staff

Dave Percival (Chair of Trustees)


Dave and his wife Liz, are the founders of 2-in-2-1 (www.2-in-2-1.co.uk - an organisation dedicated to promoting access to the very best resources and services in building secure relationships. He sees Time for Families as a vital conduit for reaching the most marginalised in society with the life changing possibilities that flow from stable, long term loving relationships - especially marriage. Dave has been married to Liz since 1979 and they have three children. Dave and Liz are also involved with the Anglican Marriage Encounter programme (www.marriageencounter.org.uk)

Lady Toulson, CBE


After qualifying as a lawyer and giving her time happily to her four children, Elizabeth has spent many rewarding years in the voluntary sector in different guises. She has been National Chairman of the WRVS and the Children's Society and has also been involved with the Queen Elizabeth Foundation for the Disabled. She remains a school governor and enjoys the work of a local adviser in the Citizen's Advice Bureau. She has recently been elected to the Royal Society of Arts. Elizabeth and her husband Roger have two granddaughters.

Olayinka Modupe Okeowo


Ola was born in Lagos, Nigeria to devout Christian parents and is one of 8 children. She is a trained teacher and counsellor. In 2002 she joined Lighthouse Education Services as a management committee member. LES works through educational projects to improve the lives of children, parents and teachers in Vauxhall. Ola is extremely interested in work in Prisons and works with different charities and organisations to develop plans and strategies, providing help and relevant support to inmates and ex-offenders. Ola also loves swimming, reading and travelling.

Polly Nute


Polly works closely with her husband Fraser, who is Pastor of Totnes United Free Church (www.totnesunitedfree.org.uk). They have lived in Totnes for many years - both working in education. Polly, a gifted musician, continues to teach piano. Polly's passion for Time for Families comes out of her desire to see men and women being given every possible opportunity to engage in relationship skills training. She also works as a volunteer in the prisons whenever she has the opportunity.

Chris Murray


Chris has lived in Devon for over 40 years, so is almost a native! He and his wife Nicky run Pennywell Farm, which has twice been voted the top attraction of the West Country. Pennywell has also been granted the Gold Standard Award for being environmentally friendly (www.pennywellfarm.co.uk). Chris and Nicky attended a marriage course and through that became aware of the work of Time for Families. Chris became aware of the importance of promoting relationship security and spending quality time in that relationship. He was asked to become a trustee, and accepted that responsibility.

John Tripp


John recently retired as a consultant paediatrician in Exeter, where he took a major interest in adolescent medicine and as a senior lecturer in the Peninsula Medical School (www.pms.ac.uk) where his main research interests have been in the effects of family re-ordering on children and the development of school based programmes to improve sexual health (www.apause.com).

Michael Clark


Michael retired in 2009 as General Manager of the Relationships Foundation (www.relationshipsfoundation.org) a charity which promotes the importance of a relationships based approach to public policy.  He recently co-authored a report on the case for couple relationships education.  Before joining the Foundation, he was employed in a number of management roles in the electricity supply industry, dealing with human resources, administration and regulatory policy.  With a long-standing interest in and support of work in prisons, Michael believes Time for Families has a vital role to play in helping prisoners to build relationship skills to support family life.

CEO: Simon Pellew, OBE


Simon joined Time for Families as Chief Executive at the end of 2006. He believes passionately that good family relationships are a vital key to both reducing re-offending and saving children from starting a life of crime. Before Time for Families he ran two charities, Pecan (which he set up) and Stepping Stones. Pecan provides training for unemployed people in Peckham and Stepping Stones provides accommodation and support for ex-prisoners. Simon was awarded an OBE in 2003 for his work reducing unemployment. Simon is married to Shunu and they have two children.

Company Secretary and Treasurer: Catherine Dawkins


Catherine is a scientist and Chartered Accountant of outstanding ability. She has extensive experience of working with offenders, and has recently been at Ridley Hall, Cambridge training for the ministry. Her work as Hon Treasurer and Company Secretary for Time for Families is executed with professionalism, commitment and above all a belief in the mission and vision of our programme. She now is ordained and is living in the Yemen.
